"EPIC" SNOW IN CRESTED BUTTE

People say that if you want to know what the weather is doing in Crested Butte, you best look out your window. For once the weather forecast was actually spot on. Just yesterday, NOAA was calling for "HEAVY SNOWFALL OF EPIC PROPORTIONS" and "3 TO 6 FEET OF TOTAL SNOWFALL BY THURSDAY AFTERNOON WITH SOME AREAS REACHING 8 FEET. THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED OVER THE GRAND MESA AND THE AREAS SURROUNDING AND INCLUDING CRESTED BUTTE." And they weren't kidding! Crested Butte Mountain Resort is reporting 53 inches of snowfall in the last 7 days, 27" in the last 48 hours, and 16 in the last 24 hours. All that at 5:15 this morning and it hasn't stopped snowing since!

The snow in Crested Butte has been the hot topic in town, and apparently around the entire state of Colorado and even other parts of the country. Check out these news reports featuring Crested Butte...and Yours Truly.
